How do I post a video?

Runaway Traders is looking for your personal videos that show off your online trading skills from the most exotic places on the planet:  How about day trading in the Parthenon in Athens? Buying artifacts from the natives in Timbuktu and selling them on eBay? Managing an online business from scattered spots across the planet. The wilder, the woollier, the better. But any spot that dramatizes the incredible reach of today's computer technologies is fair game.

To reach our site, simply upload your video to one of the popular web sites that specialize in videos. Start with either of these two top-notch outfits:  www.youtube.com or www.blip.tv.  Once you've uploaded your material to one of these sites, just email me the link along with a description of where you are and what you're doing. We'll take it from there and feature your video on our site.

What's the best format to upload for high quality?

YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras and camcorders, and cell phones in the .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats. They recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 320x240 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on Runaway Trader.

How long will my video take to upload?

Depending on your connection speed and the size of the video, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to upload a video. Generally, if you have a high-speed internet connection you can expect the upload to take somewhere between 1-5mins for every 1MB. However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation in connection speeds.

Is there a limit to how much I can upload?

We don't have any limit for the number of videos we feature or the length and don't foresee adding a ceiling anytime in the future.  So get crankin' and upload as many videos as you'd like—it's more content for the whole Runaway Trader community to enjoy!

P.S. If you want to upload a video of yourself swing trading at a nudist beach, you may do so. It may not be loaded onto our site but we'll enjoy watching it.
